CDC Changes Data Tracker To New Community Level Tool; Stark County Moves To Low (Green)

County of Stark issued the following announcement on Feb 26.

According to the CDC, COVID-19 Community Levels are a new tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data. Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area. Take precautions to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 based on the COVID-19 Community Level in your area.

What Can You Do?

  • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Get tested if you have symptoms.
  • People may choose to mask at any time.
  • People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
  • If you are immunocompromised or high risk for severe disease
    • Have a plan for rapid testing if needed (e.g., having home tests or access to testing)
    • Talk to your healthcare provider about whether you are a candidate for treatments like oral antivirals, PrEP, and monoclonal antibodies
What Can The Community Do At The Low Level?

  • Maintain improved ventilation throughout indoor spaces when possible
  • Follow CDC recommendations for isolation and quarantine, including getting tested if you are exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19

  • Pfizer-BioNTech is offered at the Stark County Health Department - 7235 Whipple Ave. NW in North Canton.
    • 1st, 2nd and Booster Doses
    • 5+ can receive their recommended COVID-19 vaccine
    • Monday-Friday 9 AM to 3:30 PM
    • Saturday 9 AM to 11:30 AM
