University of Mount Union issued the following announcement on Apr 1.
We're celebrating our Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 graduates by showcasing our students who have exciting plans lined up after graduation with #30DaysofExceptional! Today we're featuring marketing and management double major, Amanda Wesely '22.
Amanda will join the distinguished and award-winning Voyage Global Leadership Development Program as an event planning Voyager at the Marriott Grand Hotel in downtown St. Louis, MS.
"My time at Mount Union has increased my communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. In my sorority I have held many leadership positions, but the one I learned the most in was my role as director of philanthropy. During that role I discovered my love for event planning while coordinating a 5K and other annual drop-in philanthropy events. The marketing and management professors have pushed me out of my comfort zone to increase my professional growth. Mr. Kachilla believed in me enough to enter me in many business competitions that developed my skills as a leader. I have had many internships that would not be possible without my time here. Without the University of Mount Union I would never have had the opportunities I have post graduation.
My favorite memories at the University of Mount Union include my time as a diver on the UMU swim and Dive team, meeting a great friend group in Alpha Delta Pi, and traveling to New York City on a school trip my first year of college. One of the best memories I have at Mount Union is getting to go to school with my brother for one final year while he was a senior and I was a first year student. The greatest memory of all is most definitely my times spent at Jaliscos.
Also, huge shout out to my mom and dad for all they have done for me. I would never have had the success I do without their support."
