City of North Canton issued the following announcement on Mar 30.
Did you know that the first woman to serve on North Canton City Council was Grace Baughman, who served on the North Canton Village Council from 1926-1929? Or that 60 years ago this year North Canton officially became a Charter City with the start of the first City Charter in 1962? Or that still serving Councilmember Daryl Revoldt was the first freshman Councilmember to take the oath of office in December instead of January in 1981 following a charter amendment the year before?
In honor of the City's 60th anniversary as a chartered municipality we have been going through our records to recognize the dedicated public servants and residents that have helped shape our wonderful City over the past 60 years. In honor of all those individuals who have sacrificed of their time, talent, and intellect, as elected officials, the City is excited to share a full listing of all 91 City and Village Council's that have represented the people of the City since the Council's establishment in 1906.
