2022 Leaf Collection
Collection of Loose Leaves
On November 7th the Street Department will begin its annual leaf pickup program collecting large piles of leaves that are raked out to the curb lawn through-out the city. In an effort to test equipment and train new employees, residents may see a leaf crew picking up bulk piles the week prior to the start date of November 7th. Residents are reminded again not to put piles of leaves in the streets as it does cause a road hazard and can be cited by the police, please refer to Codified Ordinances 937.05 and 311.01(d).
Please remember leaves cannot be picked up where cars are in front of the piles. Residents are also reminded not to put anything in with the leaves such as garbage, shrubs, tree limbs or yard waste as they will not be picked up. This type of debris will not go thru the machine. Leaves must be placed in the curb lawn to be picked up. City crews will proceed through each section one time. A second sweep through each section will only happen if weather conditions remain favorable. Residents can place bagged leaves out along with their regular trash and will be picked up by Kimble Refuse on their regular scheduled trash pick-up day in the event two complete rounds is not possible.
