CANTON, OHIO – The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce have named two longtime community volunteers to the top leadership positions for the 2022 festivities that will celebrate the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement.
Dennis Manzella will serve as General Chair and Todd Hawke as General Vice Chair. Manzella and Hawke will lead the nearly 5,000-person volunteer corps that helps with the planning, coordination and execution of the events surrounding the annual festivities. The volunteers provide a world-class experience to the hundreds of thousands of fans who will descend upon Northeast Ohio and the Canton community for the 2022 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival including Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls. The annual event kicks off the NFL’s season and centers around the Enshrinement for members of the Class of 2022 that will take place Saturday, Aug. 6, in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
Manzella, a New York native who now resides in Jackson Township, attended St. John’s University. He pursued a career in property and casualty insurance, retiring in April 2021 as Assistant Vice President of Marketing for Western Reserve Group in Wooster, Ohio.
A longtime, dedicated volunteer, Manzella is entering his 28th year of volunteer service with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival including Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls. Over the past three decades, he has been the Chairperson for the Appreciation Party, Security & Logistics and the Concert for Legends committees, and he also volunteers on the Enshrinement and Hall of Fame Game committees. Manzella sits on the Board of Directors for Catholic Charities for Stark and Portage Counties and is a member of the Buckeye Corvette Club and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club.
