State Rep. Jim Thomas | The Ohio House of Representatives
The Ohio House of Representatives has passed a legislation to honor Specialist Dennis Alan Combs by designating a portion of U.S. Route 62 as the "Specialist Dennis Alan Combs Memorial Highway." The bill, known as House Bill 202, was announced by State Rep. Jim Thomas, who sponsored the legislation.
Specialist Dennis Alan Combs, a Canton native, served as a medical specialist with the 44th Medical Brigade, 128th Medical Company. Tragically, he was fatally wounded on June 16, 1967, while serving in Vietnam. The memorial highway will serve as a permanent tribute to his ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
State Rep. Jim Thomas spoke about the significance of the legislation, stating, "While nothing will fill the void of his death, this dedication will forever memorialize Specialist Combs' ultimate sacrifice to our nation."
The legislation has now been passed by the Ohio House of Representatives and will move to the Ohio Senate for consideration.
