In a significant move, the Ohio House has successfully overridden Governor DeWine's veto of House Bill 68, the SAFE Act and Save Women's Sports Act. State Representative Jim Thomas (R-Jackson Twp.) expressed his support for the decision, emphasizing the importance of upholding the integrity of women's sports and protecting the youth from making irreversible medical decisions regarding gender.
Representative Thomas stated, "Overriding the governor's veto upholds the integrity of women's sports and protects our youth from undergoing permanent medical decisions concerning gender." He further urged the Ohio Senate to follow suit and support the House's crucial decision to override the veto.
With the Ohio House having taken this decisive step, the veto override of the SAFE Act will now be presented to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
